Daisy
Short Film | Stop-Motion | 5 min
BAU – University of Art and Design, Barcelona, Spain
Daisy is a stop-motion short film created over 5–6 months as part of my academic journey at BAU. It tells the story of a young girl bound to a music box, who slowly becomes aware of strange observers—and her attempt to escape their gaze.
This was one of the biggest and first films I’ve made, and it offered a deeply hands-on experience. It was a significant opportunity to showcase my skills — from designing, carving, and painting the box to working on armature making and fabrication. The process challenged me to learn, unlearn, and grow in many ways
Designing & Construction of Music box
I designed the box, taking inspiration from traditional Walnut wood carving technique from Kashmir, India. All the wooden panels were designed and carved by me on balsa wood.
Armature and Fabrication
Armature planning was done carefully by keeping in mind the movement of Daisy and foam was shaped in a way to have a body-con costume. The costume fabrication had 3 parts body suit, tights and skirt along with petals. Rest were part of accessories like shoes and the flower buns.
